Sunshine turns 6

and gets grounded for trapping the cat in her room.
the day of.
We hadn't mentioned the d ate, we hadn't mentioned that it was upcoming.
She knew.
She has boycotted good choices.
She has decided to make our lives RADical.
endangering animals, endangering self, endangering everyone.
she is trapping the cat in her room when she gets up to go potty at 5 AM, the cat comes running out at 10 when she is "up". Very roughed-and-bothered looking.
She will take her enzymes and other meds, but won't eat (enzymes digest the contents of her stomach. If there is nothing in her stomach, then they digest the lining and cause anything from belly ache to bleeding ulcers.)
Endangering everyone else, she was ejected from the car yesterday for endangering us. She announced that she "was going to make us have a car accident just like she made B have a car accident and her car flipped over and over and she had to go to the hospital" then she started to take her shoes off. On a winding mountain road, we just can't risk that. I have always had pretty strict car rules, from the time I got my license and had two belligerent young siblings. If you act like an ass while I am driving, I will gladly pull off the road and put you out in the hot sun/cold snow until you pull your head out of your butt. I pulled off, pulled her out of the car, barefoot and yelling, and let her stand out in the dirt parking lot, yelling about how cold she was and we are not and will not never be, her MOMMIES until she was ready to start being safe and stop being cold. I almost died when a family walking out of a nearby house had this conversation: (little girls, 4- and 7-ish): mommy mommy look that mean growed up has that little girl on the dirt and she don't got no shoes and she's cold and she won't let her back in and she's crying! (adult): yes, and do you hear what she is saying? if any child of mine was acting like that they wouldn't be standing on the side of the road having a conversation. If either of you ever acts of talks like that to me I will blister your butt so bad that you don't sit again and knock those words out of your mouth, now get going. M didn't quite hear but knew we were being talked about, I had to hold my breath to keep from laughing. After they had passed I took the opportunity to point out that many kids would get in major trouble for acting the way she was and probably get a really big spanking.
Anyway, after she stopped her screeching, she was strapped back into the car, with all the restraints, and told that there would be "no extras" (no candy, no special food, no dining out, no treats, no running around, no play time, etc), but that she was.not.controlling.our.day. by making bad choices and getting grounded so we had to stay home with her in the room. Our lives were going on, she was missing out.
The day went well, and when the Santa at the store asked if she would like a candy, she was the first one to say (with a smile even), "no candy for me today, too many bad choices."
We got home and did her vest, tucked her in bed, the next morning, she locked the cat in the bedroom. again. If I wake up to a cat in your bedroom again you are grounded.
This morning, the cat was in her room AGAIN.
Apparently she likes the isolation?
We're trying something different today. She's grounded. No toys, no books, no extras, but she's right.next.to.me. at all times, in the kitchen, in the living room, everywhere. Next to me. Arms reach.
Hopefully, she'll get tired of it. She's certainly bored.
