This works out well for us and I
Sunshine's therapist watched the girls play together for about an hour yesterday, and saw many of the same things we've been observing. She has a bit of home work for us involving allowing the other person to have an idea and following it even if it's not what the first person wants. We also have to praise the "tattler" for "appropriate tattling" (don't tell me unless the offense is.... 1-dangerous/hurtful to person (including self), animal, or object; 2-when the problem starts, not after it's done).
We got a new (old) behavior today. Fe is showing some sexually predatory behaviors (convincing sibling to touch buttock, or breast, or "pull on an item (cloth belt) tucked inside the back of the underwear/pants") in play; all very passive behaviors, but we know they're red flags. Our parent vigilance has tripled and oddly... feels familiar and safe (?) because we understand what's going on and know how to parent that without causing more damage, and understand supervision requirements. It's also nice that it happened now instead of after we broke and let them share a room or sent them to public school, where we had a little trouble in Round One.
It's stressful, this acting out, but... good to see(?) because it makes me feel like we're being trusted more to be able to handle it; so it feels "safer???" (in my untrained analysis of her ten year old mind) as unsafe as it is.
I still don't know what to do with this Passive-Aggressive RADminiscent behavior. We don't have an official diagnosis, but even Sunshine's therapist agreed that this feels kinda RAD-y. Sunshine's RAD is so loud and explosive (and so much easier).
