Crappy proof that even when CF doesn't "get you"...

... it gets you.

I grew up with Josh and his sister, Harmony, - they both have CF - and their big brother, Jacob. The Mompean family were who gave US the strength and courage to take Sunshine. Doc(Kim) and Harmony worked to prepare us and tell us that this IS HARD, but do-able and showed me when I was younger that kids can do this stuff... WE have braved this because "MOMPEANS KICK BUTT!" but they need some love and support through this too.

Josh had a transplant in 2010 and is now in the hospital (admitted last night, surgery this morning) with blood clots and other issues throughout his body. It's not looking good.

Joshua Update: This afternoon I spoke to Kim and learned the following:
- Joshua's legs continue to do "ok" after clearing the clots via surgery, but they are still a little concerned about one of them as it is still "cool" to the touch.
- Joshua's heart does have fluid around it and is compressing at about 30%. Normal hearts compress at about 65%-70% - this stat shows Joshua is in congestive heart failure.
- Joshua's lungs are also considered to be in pulmonary failure - which is why he is currently on life support. The good news there is that he was at 100% oxygen and they were able to turn it down to 70%. That may not remain that way, but for now it is a great thing!!!
- Joshua's clotting throughout his body (spleen, heart, brain) are still the primary concern and several specialists are doing a variety of tests to determine cause and treatment. They are scheduling Joshua for a CAT scan to review his brain to see what that clot is "doing". The good news here is that when Joshua was admitted there was NO COGNITIVE DEGENERATION! However, with the medically induced coma, there is no way to test without doing scans (which they are working on).
- Lastly, Joshua will remain in a medically induced coma for several days for sure. MEDICALLY INDUCED means this is the best chosen way for him to heal. It is not a coma that resulted from his body shutting down, but rather a purposeful treatment plan. That is good.

The family is asking for prayers, good wishes, and anything else you can throw Josh's way.
