After completing PRIDE class in June, we were finally certified by the State Foster Care Board in October of 2008, to take in children from birth to the age of four. (If we are needed in another area, such as a teen mother/expecting teen mother, we may also be considered for those placements.)
M, is 25 years old and is studying to become a LCSW, or licensed clinical social worker. T, is 26 and is a stay at home parent.
We're not the "real parents", although some day we'd like to be. For now, we're just playing house with other people's children, while they figure things out and get their lives together so they can be a healthy, functioning family.
We are just starting out on this journey and are so pleased to have you along for the ride! And, well, we're young, and while we've both been "educated" in the care and maintenance of young children, we don't know everything, so feel free to share your tips and ideas!
