Mom pleaded no contest to the D&N in court today, the girls are officially the state's.
She get's visitation (no comment as to when) and she can call every day after school to see how our day is going.
We are feeling accomplished (and more rested)! I wrote right after the girls came about the horrible night terrors that Big1 is having. They make my whole heart break for that beautiful little girl. Every night they have gotten a little better. Every one she has had has gotten a little worse. It's been a trade off. She has far fewer terrors, in fact, last night there were only two. Unfortunately, each one has lasted much longer and been harder to settle, she is getting more upset with the gentle touch and patting that comforted her at first. Thankfully, we can get some rest between them, allowing us to be better mommies during the day. Unfortunatly, she had one durring her nap today that lasted a long time and involved sitting up and crying.
Just RAGE, that's all we feel about them. Oh, and like the person who caused her to dream like should be castrated with a live electrical current.
The girls have new and new-to-them clothes/shoes, they have an awesome new bunk bed that they picked out all by them selves and the state paid for (I really like our FDS's supervisor!) they have toys... we even have a POTTY CHAIR!!!
AND today Lil1 got a PRINCESS couch that turns into a bed!!!
We have a backpack for Big1, and the application for christmas gifts through the Foster Parents Association...
We went to see our new school and applied for pre-school for Lil1! We need to finish filling out the paperwork and then Big1 can start school after that!
MommyT thinks that if we have just a few hours each day, we might be able to get the house clean while they're at school so when they get home, there will be a fresh, clean house to destroy!!! Won't that be AWESOME?!?!?! She also thinks that if we go and get cool PRINCESS BEDDING, that we will have two little munchkins who are excited to sleep in their beds!
Plus, if the kids are in school, we can do wonderful, useful things like apply for food stamps for the girls, mop the floors that they will otherwise water-ski on thier butts during, wash dishes, grocery shop and actually get what we need, shower...(!)
------------------------------------------------------------
And on further accomplishments for the day:
*we have applied to get Lil1 into preschool.
*we toured the schools
*we have filled out the registration for Big1 to go to school.
*M talked to a caseworker. In fact, she talked to our FDS, AND our CPS worker (twice!), AND I think our CPS workers supervisor. She only made four phone calls and ALL of them were returned within twenty minutes!!!! (Anyone who's done this for a while knows what a miracle that is.)
*We called today... and got dental appointments for both girls - TOMORROW!
*Weds, we're getting the *police santioned physical* we will try again for the state sanctioned physical, if the police one doesn't count for both.
*T got the kitchen clean!!! !!! !!!
