She got an *A*...

...on her first spelling test of the year! And she only got two days to study because the teacher never sent her home with the words. And she got all the words right, AND she says that she wrote carefully and neatly so that the teacher could read her letters!
*proud mommy moment!*

Today, the youngest nephew came over (he's also six) and all of us plus his dad went to McDonald's (AKA McHell/McPoison) those three played for over two hours. Then, we dropped MommyM and nephews dad off at our house to have some sibling bonding time (playing X-box in front of the tube, turned up way to loud... like teenagers!) and MommyT took all three kids to the park. Nice thing about parks, when it's cold enough to require zipped jackets, there aren't many people there, even at peak hours! So we had the whole place almost to ourselves, and they ran and they ran and theyranandtheyran! Lil1 and MommyT swung on the disc swing (big round thing, attached to two thick poles by four long ropes) until MommyT started to feel a little nauseous - apparently swinging while laying down when you haven't swung in a quite long time can cause... unpleasantness in the intestular region (motion sickness - it took me three hours to recover)... or maybe I'm just getting the flu *shrug*.

Then, at dinner time, we had to help-regulate food intake. Big1 tried to gorge herself again, we stopped her at two generous servings for a 54lb body, I think she would have kept going until it was all gone. We have to remember that we CANNOT serve meals family style. Something about having a large amount of food on the table makes her feel as though she must consume ALL of it as QUICKLY as possible. If the food is out of sight, we can slow her down and she won't continually ask for more. Today, MommyT brought the dish to the table to serve while she made drinks, and MommyM was serving. Big1 was upset that her plate was not completely piled with food. Then Lil1 accidentally got one more (albeit MUCH smaller) chunk of chicken and she got "melt down approaching" look on her face. She was informed that the contents of her sister's plate were none of her business and she "needed to focus on her own food and listen to what her body was telling her. There was more IF she needed it."

Tomorrow is the first of two days before thanksgiving in which the HUB is open and birthmom can do visits there. If she is not set up at visit site (Harmony House - the place where parents can go to have supervised visits with their family. It costs $25 on a slightly sliding scale to set up and then $5 a visit because they have to babysit for a total of thirty minute between the time foster parents drop off and parents arrive, and then between the time the parents leave and the FP's arrive), then again, I don't think it will matter, because I think Harmony House is closed for the weekend too. We still have not been notified of a visit for this week. I don't know how the CPS worker intends to get in a family visit this week.
I'm gonna be PISSED if they try for Friday, we moved T-day up a day so that we won't risk interrupting their family time. We are having people who we NEVER get to see come up to MommyM's mom's house and spend time with us.
