It couldn't last. Yesterday was fairly good. Until it wasn't. Had to run for stuff for Sunshine, for school. She got to pick her own stuff. (We're homeschooling next year because, let's face it, she's not actually ready for school. Sure, she is better off than at least ten percent of other students, but that doesn't mean she is ready. At the end of the year, we learned that she doesn't have self control, the end of the day SUCKS for/with her, she has no boundaries, she may act sexually inappropriately, and a few other things that weren't "important enough" to talk with us about when we could set up an action plan and begin to work on them.) She had to go to another area to pick an item and she melted doooowwnnn.
Today???
Today was a bad day. No major meltdown-fits. No intentional good choices. Never a good attitude. Never an ounce of respect. No closeness. No... no nothing.
She went outside to play. She rammed into everything. She climbed on the slide and stood. She tried to scratch the paint off the walls. She tried to hurt the dog.
She was brought inside. She threatened to hurt the cats.
When served lunch, she started to eat. She took two bites. Without one word from anyone (all of our mouths were full), she threw her taco across the room, which meant no-chance-no-compromise pediasure (which she managed to spit several ounces of onto the floor). She refused to take time-in, so then she was sent to her room where she ripped apart her bed (to the best of her ability-YAY 200lb bed!), then spent forty minutes kicking her wall.
Finally on the fifth try, she did her time out, calmly and acceptably.
She swept the living room floor(where her taco landed) -mostly-, except for the part that required her to *do* anything (move the cord, walk to the corner of the room, etc), she mopped the hallway (instead of the dining room, where her pediasure landed) again, mostly, no corners, "missed" half of it. She ignored any guidance or suggestions.
She was allowed crayons to practice writing, and she wrote HALF of her (new) last name -which she begged to be allowed to do-. Then she very quietly and studiously spent five minutes making random marks in random colors and random splotches of scribble until she was told that because she was choosing to not follow directions, she had to put the crayons away now. She spent seven minutes "figuring out" how to close the box.
Lots of _little_ disrespect. Eye-rolling, "lame", huffing, heading in the right direction but veering off course at the last moment, sneering, growling/hissing at the animals, stiff distance, hyper-vigilance, glaring. Not really openly "bad", but certainly not "good". (grimacing at the terms).
It was just really, really frustrating. After she was in bed, we sat in our room and tried to caption the day. I couldn't say is was a "bad" day. I've had bad days with sunshine. They SUCK. But it definitely wasn't a "good" day. And it wasn't "indifferent".
In any case, the good day is over. Told ya it wouldn't last.
